Saturday, October 24th, 2015: 9:30 am - 1:30 pm (4 hour relay style) Murray River, P.E.I. (on the Beck Trail), located on the Commercial Road. Directions HERE. There will be two rider types: Beginner & Advanced. All riders and all ages welcome! This is a family friendly event, and is child and beginner rider friendly. The beginner riders will have to complete the RED loop to count as 1 lap, while the advanced riders must complete the BLUE loop to count as 1 lap. The team with the most laps after 4 hours wins. The 5 different divisions are: Solo(male and female), 2 person team, 3 person team, and 4 person team. You can have a maximum of 2 team members on the trail at a time. The teams can be a mix of beginner and advanced riders. The winners will be announced immediately after the race, and there will be lots of prizes for all participants! This is a Cycle PEI sanctioned event. You do not need to be a member of Cycle PEI to participate. The registration fee is $15 per adult - children 16 and under are free. The registration fee is paid the day of the race by cash, and we will have an advance option - details to come. Registration includes some swag, and as usual, everyone goes home with an awesome prize! Registration opens at 8:30 am, and closes at 9:15 am, and the race starts at 9:30 am. |

2011 Downeaster Mountain Bike Race
Last year's race was a huge success with over 35 participants! The riders ranged in ability from beginner to advanced, and ranged in age from 6 to 65. Details of this year's race: - Saturday, October 22, 2011 - Race starts at 9:30 am, and finishes at 1:30 pm (4 hour relay style) - Held in Murray River (on the Beck Trail), located on the Commercial Road - There will be two rider types: Beginner / Intermediate & Advanced - The beginner riders will have to complete the RED loop to count as 1 lap, while the advanced riders must complete the BLUE loop to count as 1 lap. - The team with the most laps after 4 hours wins (in each division). - You can have a maximum of 2 team members on the trail at a time. - The teams can be a mix of beginner and advanced riders. - The 3 different divisions are: - Solo - must ride the full BLUE course to count as 1 lap - 2 person team - Beginner riders complete the RED loop to count as 1 lap, advanced riders complete the BLUE loop to count as 1 lap. - 4 person team - Beginner riders complete the RED loop to count as 1 lap, advanced riders complete the BLUE loop to count as 1 lap. - The winners will be announced immediately after the race, and there will be lots of prizes for all participants! This is a Cycle PEI sanctioned event. You do not need to be a member of Cycle PEI to participate. The registration fee is $40 per person, with $5 of each registration going to Easter Seals.
